The extension stores your preferences (such as warmth level, brightness, and schedule) locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device.

3. Permissions

NightGuard requests the following permissions solely for functionality:

ActiveTab / Tabs: To apply screen warmth adjustments to the current page.
Storage: To save your settings locally.
Host permissions: To inject the eye-protection stylesheet on websites you visit.

4. AI Features

If AI-powered features are enabled, any text sent for processing is handled via encrypted connections to our AI provider and is not retained or used for training.
